Bronx Independent Living Services (BILS) was established in 1983 by Barbara (Bobbi) Linn as the founding Executive Director. BILS is a not-for-profit consumer based organization. It is a non-residential center for people with disabilities. BILS is part of the Independent Living Centers network. We are dedicated to independence and equal rights for people with disabilities. We work to ensure full integration, independence, and equal opportunity for all people with disabilities by removing barriers to the social, economic, cultural, and civic life of the community. BILS is primarily governed by people with disabilities. Our programs and services are free to consumers with disabilities and their families.
