Bronx Independent Living Services is a non-profit; consumer directed organization dedicated to empowering people with disabilities to understand and exercise their civil and human rights and contribute to the mainstream of community living. We provide a fully customizable Disability Etiquette training curriculum that can be used to heighten disability awareness in the workplace. Focusing on large and medium size employers, this program will involve a variety of services encompassing outreach, curriculum development and hands-on training.
Services offered by the program
Both training and technical support are available to EMPLOYERS, MANAGERS/SUPERVISORS, HR PROFESSIONALS, DIVERSITY OFFICERS, RECRUITERS and COWORKERS and include interactive open forums for examining stereotypes and misconceptions about people with disabilities and for changing attitudes, actions and exploring recruitment strategies and outreach techniques that enable businesses to more fully benefit from the rapidly expanding and highly underutilized pool of potentially qualified job candidates and customers.
- A Standard Training Course – Our standard course contains the core training applicable to most industries.
- Customized Classes – Our training sessions can also be customized to include content specifically tailored to address an organization’s specialized needs.
- Individualized Coaching – One-on-one coaching and technical support is available to augment classroom instruction and to respond to situational issues and concerns.
